Focusing on the early church during the 50 years that followed the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, The Emerging Ekklesia is a chapter-by-chapter reflection on the New Testament from Acts 1 through the book of Jude. Meant to be listened as a companion to the actual biblical text, it's filled with the author's personal insights, developed over a period of 60 years. Including numerous quotations from the New Testament, observations from early church fathers, and personal anecdotes from the author's 40-year experience with grassroots house churches, it spotlights the vigor and growth of early Christianity and explores the emergence of the church under the leadership of Jesus' teachings and the work of the Holy Spirit.
"You are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit." (Ephesians 2:19-22)
