The art of folklore isn't just about Pecos Bill anymore. In this comfortable and informative collection the celebration of oral traditions is expanded with segments on baby lore, funeral homes, Hispanic folk customs, and grandparenting—among others. The voices, accents, and tones of all the presenters bespeak their interest in and love of common men and women. But the folklorists themselves are anything but common. They are keen listeners and observers of the world. The members of the Texas Folklore Society believe that everybody has a tale to tell and every tale is as big as Texas.
