The saga of the Branson family in law enforcement continues when Jesse’s son, Zack Branson, becomes a Texas Ranger.
The Texas Rangers were Zack’s second choice, but once a Ranger, he was glad it had worked out the way it did.
Zack teams up with a grizzled, old, former mountain man to track a killer who chose the Palo Duro Canyon as a hiding place. The former mountain man wants the reward, and Zack wants the fugitive. They struggle against a fierce Texas winter storm and bounty hunters to find the killer.
When Zack goes after Klan members who killed two Black men in Van Zandt County, Texas, the murderers decide the Ranger needs to die. The question becomes—can he find the killers before they kill him?
