Ulysses S. Grant had relocated to the basin from the bowl not long after the first of the year. Trading in his prized Jaguar for a Chevrolet Silverado, Uly acquired a serviceable 36-foot travel trailer, a dented but certainly lake-worthy 12-foot bass boat, and a brand new barbecue grill to cook up all the fish he imagined catching.
A city dweller his entire life, Uly had solitude squarely on his mind when he decided to make the basin his new home. Sort of anyway, as solitude wasn’t the only thing on Uly’s mind. To be quite honest, solitude wasn’t even the half of it. More than anything, Uly yearned for some measure of respite, though escape is perhaps a more apt word to describe what it was Uly pursued....
