Bruce L Mertz MD
In his deeply moving autobiography, Dr. Bruce L. Mertz recounts the incredible spiritual journey of a gifted athlete who discovered the profound truth that a life without God is a life without true fulfillment. Raised in a loving family that provided every opportunity, Bruce had access to all the world had to offer. Yet, despite experiencing worldly success, he felt an unshakeable emptiness. It was in this void that he cried out to God and found a loving Heavenly Father who walked beside him, transforming his life in ways he could never have imagined.
Guided by faith, Bruce found fellowship with other Christ followers, which became a cornerstone of his spiritual growth. God’s hand was evident as Bruce pursued a career in medicine, opening doors that led him to serve as a medical missionary in Ecuador. Through every trial and triumph, Bruce felt God’s unwavering presence. This book shows how the Creator God of the universe can interact and show up in the life of an ordinary person. “Swallow, the Lord is Near: My Journey with the Shepherd” is a testament to the transformative power of faith. Dr. Mertz’s story will inspire listeners to seek a deeper relationship with God and to trust in His plan, no matter where it leads.
