A complete foundation in stocks and index options, built one chapter at a time. Most options books ask you to absorb theory for fifty pages before you ever see a completed trade. This one is built the other way around.
Part I—Foundations. What an option contract actually is, and the four fields that describe every one of them. How an order is placed, what the bid and ask really mean, and why a market order in options is the most expensive habit a beginner can form. Why cash-settled index options remove risks that stock options carry. Then, in Chapter 4, you place a trade—eight numbered steps from the order ticket to the exit—before any theory arrives. The same trade is then run again as a loser, because that is the version most books never show you.
Part II—The Mechanics. Explained against something you have already watched happen. Option chain is explained by each field and the meaning behind it. You will be able to read an option chain column by column like an expert. Splitting any premium into what is real and what is decaying.
Part III—The Strategies. Buying calls and puts, and the arithmetic showing the gain and loss calculations. The vertical spread—a popular Option trading strategy which basically is a combination of an upper and lower bound trades. The maximum loss is known before you enter. The iron condor, sounds like a more complicated strategy but in fact is basically combining two spreads in one trade. The book helps you in exactly how to read the conditions you are trading in, so the market informs your choice rather than a rule book making it for you.
Part IV—Staying in the Game. Position sizing, the pre-trade checklist and the ten mistakes to be aware of that are common to most beginning option traders.
After listening to this book you will have a solid knowledge of Options trading and you are going to be ready to move to daily and weekly income strategies described in my other book—"0DTE SPX Options Income Strategies".
