Amazing work! Wish chapters were labeled.

Amazing culmination of a lifetime of learning about the process of gaining and teaching strength. Please label the chapters for reference and re- listening; it's the only ding on a perfect product. Glad Rip narrated so you can clearly hear his disdain when he talks about foolishness.

Great information

Mark is a very intelligent and experienced lifter. I gave 4-star for overall because this audiobook REALLY needs a pdf for some visual understanding of the positions and postures. The explanations are thorugh but people really do need to see some visual representation to fully grasp it. I found myself referencing Mark on YouTube almost daily while going through the book. In either case, I would highly recommend it.

Worth the wait

Always great hearing rippetoe on audio. Love his podcast and been waiting for the release of the audio book version of starting strength. Audible should get rippetoe to provide audio for more books.

Information OVERLOAD!

I have been a avid weight trainer for nearly two decades now. However, after years of experience, articles read, and advice from others experienced lifters; Mark Rippetoe has explained more valuable information in his first two chapters than I have acquired in my years in the gym. I will listen to this book at least four more times before I start the program, due to the information overload I have recieved. Great book!

Good starting base of knowledge.

There is a LOT of information here. I've never lifted weights in my life and needed to get "caught up" on what others have already learned by being in the gym. This is a great contrarian view to "mainstream" exercise information. Plus Rip is always entertaining to listen to.

Brass Tacks

Rip is one of the best no-BS’ers out there. I love this book. It’s clear, concise and full of concrete information. I highly recommend this book to any fitness trainer or weight lifting enthusiast. Listen, heed & abide.

Euclid of barbell training

This here is a classic. The paperback is a must, but you should also listen to this Audible version and not just once. The author narrates and his voice commands a deep understanding of this subject because he has been in the trenches of gym coaching since the seventies. I highly recommend his other books as well.

An eye opener

Having been in the fitness profession for over 20 years as a PT and strength and conditioning coach, hearing the rational for various training modalities the information in this book comes over as the most rational sound. I just wish I'd read it 20 years ago.

Must read for strength athletes

The book that introduced me to barbells

No other person can narrate this book but Rip himself. And it's done perfectly. It supplements the written version for sure.
