Summer Campaign of 1915 - Continued.

EAST

The Galizien Sturm offensive is in full swing in the East. The Germans, under the command of General Paul von Hindenburg, have just stormed the Brest-Litovsk Fortress in Western Belarus. They now start their movement southward toward Western Ukraine to outflank General Brussilov. Meanwhile, General August Mackensen’s attack on the Przemysl Fortress continues with the obvious objective of pushing on to the main Russian Army supply hub in Lemberg. The desperate fight for the survival of Austria-Hungary continues in Budapest, with the Russian forces and the K.U.K. troops of General Svetozar Boroević fighting each other for every inch of soil in the Kobanya District. The final fight for the Dreher Antal Rt Brewery will decide the outcome of Budapest as the Russians and units like General Kornilov’s 48th Division prepare for the final assault.

In Lithuania, the Germans have switched to a defensive stance, while in Podolia and Moldavia, the two fighting armies of the Entente and the Central Powers engage in a head-to-head battle for the mastery of Southern Ukraine.

WEST

The fight for France continues as the Germans and French forces desperately slug it out in Paris’ southern suburbs. In Verdun, the new German Western Commander-in-Chief, Kronprinz Wilhelm, launches his forces into the attack following the conquest of Fort Douaumont. The naval war heats up in the Atlantic, with the Entente ships in hot pursuit of a full German battlecruiser squadron on the loose (Admiral von Hipper), while Maximilian von Spee returns to his three surviving battleships in Italy with a plan to crush Franco-British naval superiority in the Central Mediterranean. Throughout it all, soldiers, airmen, officers, and sailors struggle for survival. This is the story of the Great War that might have been.
