I had skipped my regular visit to Snyder’s bar, and had dropped in at Lola’s instead, in order to catch a little face time with Lani, who bartended there. But, by late afternoon the tourists had descended on the place like a swarm of pink-faced locusts, so I left Lani at the blender to mix their fruit drinks and things with umbrellas.
