Iran Nazario
On the streets of every city a true life battle between revenge and justice is fought. Marginalized communities caught in the crossfire of violence, poverty, drugs, and abuse, seem to spiral. To those on the outside, it is too easily brushed off and judged as just the way things are. To those on the inside, what happens stems from a fight for survival, a longing for family stability, and is a reflection of all they’ve ever known. Author Iran Nazario has lived this. Beaten and abused as a child, witnessing and experiencing things no child should, he was forced to grow up too fast. Ultimately homeless and completely alone at age 13, in and out of prison, and recruited into violent gang life, it is no wonder the rage that permeated his every move seemed to have won out over reform.
Can someone let go of the cycle of violence to choose peace? Even when faced with the unthinkable - the shooting and death of his brother? From gang member to community leader and peacemaker, Nazario is living proof this can happen. Heartbreaking, brutal, and ultimately a story of redemption, From Rage to Peace is the memoir of a life unexpectedly saved by one pivotal choice in a time of unspeakable loss. It is a story that will captivate, inspire, and give hope for the future.
Peace.
