Should be a prerequisite for couples.
Easy to follow along, easy to internalize, motivational, helped me reflect my approach, all while enjoying a funny man teaching me life long tools to help manage my 5 year old, 3 year old, 2 year old, and 5 month old. Pots and Pans :)

Sexist. Outdated.
I got as far as “mmmm, yeah she does need to dress more modestly” when talking about a teenage girl. This book also discusses outdated forms of parenting and reads as if talking to a mother the entire time, and then will here and there refer to a man also being there but not being the core audience.

The content is interesting enough but i had to stop because of the way the narrator presents the book.

Some very good advice mixed in with some nonsense
The first few chapters offer some sound advice. It follows authoritative parenting practices, which are proven to have good long term outcomes for your kids. It would have been improved with the inclusion of studies to back up the practises, but unfortunately relies on anecdotes as references.
It’s very Christian based and most chapters assumes you are Christian, however, chapters based on Christianity can be easily skipped, as chapters are divided into different parenting lectures.
However, a couple of the chapters at the end are complete nonsense, with 0 scientific backing. One of which advises to go with your gut instinct and develop it so it can be used as a magical guide. This makes no sense as gut feelings are formed due to past events, so to develop a good inner guide it would make sense to to analyse why you have that feeling. Mindlessly following your gut could be detrimental, as the feeling may be misleading. For example, not having a male role figure as a kid can leave to a gut feeling of not trusting a partner when they get too close and then self-sabotaging a healthy relationship. This example is actually given in a different chapter.
You’ll get enough good advice by just listening to the first few chapters.
