Now, facing the reality of needing two full hip replacement surgeries, just 18 months apart, and a baby daughter on the way, any doubts about such an invasive procedure were pointless.

Enduring the pain and challenges of the surgery, Chris then embarked on years of physical therapy and rehabilitation.

And soon he found that he was not only improving, he was able to move better than he had before.

His improvement was so good, in fact, that he started to wonder about a crazy idea—could he participate in grueling triathlon events? The triathlon events were comprised of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and a full 26.2-mile marathon.
