She lies broken on the cold ground, her blonde hair dark with blood, her eyes staring blankly upwards. With her final breath, she murmurs the name of her last hope: Kim Stone.

At first, Detective Kim Stone doesnt understand why shes been summoned to the scene: Chelsea Taylors fall looks like an accident. But then she hears Chelseas dying words.

Chelsea is a total stranger, and Kim has no idea what she wanted. But she doesnt believe the death is innocent. And as Kim watches Chelseas distraught mother holding her orphaned granddaughter, she makes a vow. She couldnt save Chelseas life, but she will make her murderer pay.

And when shes called to a second fatal fall, Kim is certain the killer has claimed another soul. She and the team dig into the victims pasts and uncover a shocking link. They were both patients at mental health clinic Rayburn.

Kim rushes to the clinic, hunting for answers. Shes taken aback by what she finds: its more like a hotel than a hospital, with polished floors, flowers everywhere and cheerful smiling staff too keen to answer questions. Kims suspicions only grow. The clinic treats people with severe disorders. There must be patients theyre protecting and secrets theyre hiding, because somewhere in this peaceful place, Chelsea and Karl met their killer.

But is Kims traumatic past and the memory of Chelseas last whisper blinding her to the truth? Or is she right to fear the most terrifying murderer of all someone who will never, ever stop.

A completely gripping, twisty crime thriller that will have you racing through. Perfect for fans of Val McDermid, Robert Dugoni and JM Dalgliesh.
