Tanith Lee was a British writer of science fiction, horror, and fantasy. She was the author of over 90 novels and 300 short stories, a children's picture book (Animal Castle), and many poems. She also wrote two episodes of the BBC science fiction series Blake's 7.
She was the winner of multiple World Fantasy Society Derleth Awards, the World Fantasy Lifetime Achievement Award and the Bram Stoker Award for Lifetime Achievement in Horror. She was the first woman to win the British Fantasy Award best novel award.
The Silver Sky – Two time travellers from separate worlds are drawn to the same location-- a beach on a strange unknown planet with no way back home and stalked by predators. Scientists have come up with a theory suggesting that an actual time machine might be possible.
Lead researcher Paul is having none of that political nonsense! And so with the same cool intellect that has left his marriage in ruins, he quietly alters the schedule so that the next test flight will also be a manned one. What could possibly go wrong?
Stars Paul Darrow, Elizabeth Bell, Simon Malloy, Anne Reid, Andy Rashleigh, John Jardine, David Fleeshman, John Talbot, Nina Holloway, and Mary Cunningham.
Israbel – A beautiful vampire hires an artist to paint her portrait. But then he develops a dangerous obsession...Read by Mark Bonnar and Claire Harry.
Red Wine – Mysterious man engages a beautiful girl to type the manuscript of his autobiography. As his sinister story unfolds, the girl would appear to be in danger - but perhaps they belong to the same blood group...
Red as Blood - In a dark Snow-White fantasy, the Queen sets out to rescue her stepdaughter from her sinister heritage. Read by Stella Gonet.
Bitter Gate – In her first play for radio, the author, with a new feminist slant, re-tells the classic tale of Odysseus' return to Ithaka to reclaim his wife Penelope from her suitors. Starring Michael Cochrane and Elizabeth Bell
