Four years ago, together with my sister, Mitch, we started our own home boarding, home day care, and dog walking business. Surprisingly, it wasn’t exactly a walk in the park. Just when we thought we’d mastered it, the licensing regulations changed, the local authority became the licensing inspector, and forms, policies, check lists, documentation, and evidencing every last minutiae of detail became the new norm. Fast-forward a couple of years, and we have a five-star rated business that is invariably full and with a waiting list of potential customers. So what did we learn on that journey?
