What happens when a young girl is playing hide-and-seek with her cousin and her special hiding place suddenly turns into an exploding inferno? Nine-year-old Lesia Cartelli lived through the total demolition of her grandparent's home that resulted in burns covering 50 percent of her body and face.
You will discover her scars are her gift as you learn quickly that Lesia Cartelli attracts people to her heart. Heart of Fire takes you on a roller coaster ride. You will laugh, cry, and laugh again.
As Lesia recovers, valuable lessons surface. Lessons for all of us who have endured any type of loss or traumatic event. Through her life's example, the listener reflects on their own struggles as gifts. Heart of Fire is inspiring in teaching that all losses are full of gifts, some we can't see right away. She is the founder, CEO, and guiding light of Angel Faces (AngelFaces.com), an international non-profit organization that creates retreats and ongoing support for adolescents and young women who have severe trauma injuries and deep loss. Her passion is for us to embrace our losses and trauma, and not allow it to define us.
Heart of Fire is beautifully written straight from the heart with the clarity of what we often all endured; and her extraordinary insight with humor. Lesia Cartelli makes the differences in millions of lives... and she will in yours, too.

Any additional comments?
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
This beautifully tragic story is narrated by the person who lived it. While it's not as polished as a professionally narrated book, the first hand account is gritty and raw. The story is told with lessons she's learned interwoven like motivational breaks. Though the story is about a burn victim, the story is relatable to anyone who suffered from trauma. Make sure to pack your tissues, this author will have you crying from sorrow and amazement at her strength. If life had you feeling down, pick up this book. It will change your life.
