Carey Mulligan was phenomenal in this audio play (monologue) of a woman building a career and a family, who tells her own story as tragedy strikes. Writer Dennis Kelly has a deep understanding of different kinds of people and he builds them into complex and thought-provoking characters, brought credibly to life by Mulligan's outstanding performance. I'm left pondering several parts of the play, trying to see different interpretations of key moments and reflecting on wider societal questions. And I'm left feeling raw and emotional. It's not an easy listen but it's rewarding. Cannot recommend enough.
