One place the NCC accomplishes its goals is at Gatineau Park in Chelsea Quebec, across the Ottawa River from Ottawa, Canada's capital city. It's February when we explore Gatineau Park. We are exploring the ecologically diverse 363 square kilometer Gatineau Park on snow shoes, with a naturalist guide and a six-year-old junior naturalist.

Traveling on snowshoes through the February snow that blankets the grounds, Lawrence, a nature guide, and six-year-old "junior naturalist" explore the park’s unique ecosystem, which includes many at-risk plants and animals.
