“For the Days We Spend in Hell.” This poetry chapbook by Oklahoma poet, artist, and author, Mikel Maureé Robinson, is an extraordinary collection of her poetic art written over the course of several years and a testament to the difficulties of modern life. Filled with beautiful metaphors and vivid imagery, this roller coaster of emotions takes listeners through the dark depths of depression, anxiety, and intrusive thoughts, giving them solace in knowing that they are not alone in their struggles.
Written in response to the isolation of the pandemic and her own self-destructive behavior, Robinson's poetry provides a beacon of hope for those mired in darkness. It is an expression of self-therapy that guides her own journey toward self-love. Through raw honesty and evocative language, she invites listeners to find comfort in her art… and strength in their own lives.
