Sixteen-year-old Lux Tazo doesn't quite fit in with her picture-perfect family. Her artwork appears messy, her fashion sense resembles a Tim Burton character, and the soundtrack to her life is a Sia song. Briar Heights Academy is a sanctuary where she can paint freely, see her best friend Anya Jensen every day, and find distraction from her neighbor and long-time crush, musical prodigy Ember Sweeney.
One foggy evening after years of misunderstanding between them, Lux decides to take a chance on Ember. But tragedy leaves her in a coma. While Ember and Anya fight for her survival and form their own friendship, Ember must ask himself, can music fill the infinite between them and save Lux?
Falling Like Ember reveals the beauty and pain of relationships, standing up for yourself, and choosing to fight for what you believe in, even if it's alone.
