あらすじ・解説

From New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Joanna Wylde comes a new story in her Reapers MC series....

Peaches Taylor spent the last seven years slinging drinks and dodging drunks at the Starkwood Saloon. Some might call it a dead-end job, but to her it was an investment - another six months, and she’d have enough money to buy the place.

Life would've been perfect if Eli hadn’t come home.

Eli King is ready to settle down. He stood by his brothers when they needed him, paying the price for their freedom with his own. Now it’s time to claim his reward - the Starkwood Saloon. He’s got the cash to buy the bar, the skills to run it, and just one person standing between him and his dream: Peaches Taylor.

She’s been driving him crazy since they were kids, and not in the good way. When she was six, she shoved a spider down his pants. When he was ten, he locked her in a closet overnight. Then she hot-wired his car at 17, and things got ugly....

They’re adults now, and the Starkwood isn’t a toy to fight over - it’s the hill they’ll die on. No prisoners. No compromises. No mercy.

Peaches Taylor and Eli King are going to war.

Great Series

These biker stories are a fun read. My only gripe, petty as it sounds- I live in the Pacific Northwest, so it makes me cringe when I hear the narrators mispronounce the names of some local towns.

Eli’s Triumph

I think Eli is my favorite Reaper. (It’s a toss up between him and Rome.) I’ve really enjoyed all of these novellas. I’m dad this is the last one, I’ll miss this Reaper world. The narration from these two is excellent (as always).

There’s a fine line between love and hate!

This is a hot and steamy enemies to lovers quick read. Peaches and Eli have been pushing each other’s buttons since they were kids. Now it’s years later and time hasn’t tamped down their witty banter and sparks. I thoroughly enjoyed this entertaining MC novella.

Great story, sorry the series is over

This was a great ending to the series. I love when they have strong, kick ass female leads that also have a vulnerable side. It's so nice to have a female that doesn't constantly need saving or making stupid decisions. I with there were more from Eli's perspective and less from Peaches, but it was still worth every moment.

ready for a fight with a hot undertone

In this book we get Eli and Peach's story. These two have been fighting since they were children. Peach's is sure Eli is there to steal her stuff and force her out. So when something more happens between them she would never guess what would happen next. Eli wants Peach's he just doesn't want her to kill him first. When he gets out of jail and is sold the bar she's been hoping was hers he knows there is a chance she might succeed this time. Will these 2 find that HEA or will they truly kill each other this time?

It up to you

I did NOT like Peaches. She was immature and irritating. How could she grow up with a motorcycle club and be do clueless? Gus was also foolish. Eli was the only likable character. Um, who was Peaches’ dad?

No more deep voiced narrators please!

The story was good but I could not get over the male narrator who sounded like he was slightly slurring the words at the beginning. I really dislike super deep voices especially when they sound drunk throughout half the narration. Then add them trying to sound like a female character and it's just wrong. The female narrator was great but the male narrator ruined the performance for me.

I could have over looked the male narrator but I am so tired of deep male voices narrating other books that are really interesting but otherwise spoiled but a guy narrator trying to sound like a woman especially when he has a really deep low tone.

Women narrators seem to do a great job at impersonating male voices so would prefer them for romances.

Alot of times I won't buy an audible book if I know it has a male narrator. I know there must be male narrators out there with a higher tone but for some reason all the books I've listened to have deep male tones.

Not My Fav, But Really Good

Novella's are always a hard sell for me, because so much has to happen in a short amount of pages (hours for audible), but Joanna Wylde's other novella's succeeded better for me than this one. In the end, I think the transition from enemies to lovers was to abrupt for me, maybe?

Still worth listening to, no doubt!
