Still relevant

This is highly applicable to interviews in 2020. It does however lean toward executives and not technical roles.

Very high level not very useful for jobs in Tech

Some of the advice is old & very basic. Be early to an interview, smell good, dress appropriately, shine your shoes, show energy & enthusiasm through your top achivements, research about the company & interviewers, be persistent.
Employers look for key skills such as problem solving in an interview, not just how you solved a problem in your previous jobs. Think of tech companies how are looking for strong technical skills such as algorithms, system design, scalability. They wouldn't care considering you for a job even if you have published books but were not able solve a problem in the moment.
I don't know how rest of the book is but I'm under whelmed by the book until chapter 18. I will struggle to finish this book.

No secret code

I listened to this book fully intending to get pumped up and prepared to dominate my upcoming interview based on the books description. I didn’t give away any “secrets” as the author promised in the intro. Everything I heard in this book I’ve been told time and time again in business school. The reading was decent so I gave the performance 3 stars but overall the story and “insider knowledge you won’t get anywhere else” seemed like a compilation of basic interview tactic articles you could find online for free.

This short listen is worthwhile for anyone looking for a job, regardless of level/experience. I just finished and am about to listen to it again to be sure I captured the key points.

Useful Insights

It is nice to get the perspective of a recruiter. I identified several traps I fall into that he mentioned. Appreciate the list of books to read (already read Mindset). Narrative pace was great and engaging.
