Clay Men is a fresh, authentic approach on what it takes to create real change in one's life. As a practicing psychologist, the author blends his writing with personal memoirs, self-help instructions, and inspiration to facilitate the pursuit of living an alternative life, other than the predetermined life you may be living. Using his own life script that he created as an example, he explains how one might go about finding direction, and what is required if we truly want free will: a life that is written by you, and not a life handed to you by chance, luck, or determinism. Sharing memories of his time at school, working on cattle stations, and mining underground, he gives an account of his life struggles as a young man without direction. Lightly peppered with humorous memories and philosophical reflection, the author endeavours to inspire the listener to take up the challenge of writing their own life script, suggesting that life is best lived when we are striving towards that which is worth pursuing. Whether the listener is looking for direction in life or not, the book serves as a compass towards self-improvement and understanding in a life that we all must live.
