Allison Wagner is living her best life. She has an amazing career as a mental health counselor, she’s dating an attorney, and things are almost perfect. Until her brother calls–their mother is dying, and she needs to get home as soon as possible. A good daughter would hop on the next plane with no hesitation–only Allison left her hometown years ago with no reason to ever go back - Not even for her family who practically disowned her.

Her plan is to see her mother, say her goodbyes, and get back to New York as soon as possible. Things are going well until she runs into Matt McCarty–an immediate reminder of her past and the reasons she was forced to flee her mountain community. The love they once shared was shadowed by a family feud and is the whole reason she lost touch with everyone in her hometown.
