I want to talk to Future You.

We aren't that far away from January 1st. Future you will look back at this time and what will they think. What will they do or say?

I heard this from Alex Hormozi, where he wakes up every morning and has a conversation with 85 year old himself.

Tony Robbins says we overestimate what we can accomplish in one year and over estimate what we can accomplish in 10.

I don't have conversations with future me, it's conversations with God for me.

The decade away mindset has helped me so much.

For example my YouTube is shrinking guys, it's dropped from 7 subscribers to 6.

Old Nate would have taken this personally and gotten worried, not now. I'm looking at this in the frame of mind if I do this every day for 10 years, in a decade I'll be one of the best in the world at telling stories and I'll have no problem doing it from a stage because I understand and know if I'm going to help people the rest of my life.

The number 1 place I'll be able to help people from is a stage. So me losing a subscriber right now doesn't bother me because I know long term I've shed someone who is not my dream viewer. I'm glad they aren't there and they will miss out on this journey because they left.

Good, they are going to miss my journey. So hi from a stage in 10 years.

In our social media culture it's tough to not go check all the time. I'm on Facebook again and I get it, it's hard to not go in there and check in all the time.

I'm posting again and it's hard to not go in there and check.

I'm doing my best to make my Facebook fun again and about others.

I don't want Social Media to be a Look At Me Thing.

I'm locked out of Instagram and I can't get back in because I changed my phone number. I miss the old days of Instagram being about photos and stories, now it's more of a video first platform kinda like YouTube.

What's the meaning of this podcast episode?

It's that, it's meaning it's purpose and looking long term.

I love the book 12 week year, and combine it with this long term thinking.

I have a quarter mindset to take me to my 10 year purpose.

In answering to God or 85 year old me. Am I becoming the version of myself that you want for me.

Am I following the right path you chose for me.

Quick story... In high school we had to memorize a poem and say it infront of the class.

I'll never forget this moment, I was so intimidated and I had to go infront of the class because I was so introverted. I just remember standing up there saying the poem from memory and shaking. I still remember the beginning.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood and I chose the one less traveled.

The more I lean into the good thing, what's right and what God wants me to do. The more good, I don't stop and quit because I lost a subscriber. I lean in and get excited.

I need to keep moving forward with imperfect action.

As things get hard, keep moving forward and do good for others and things will take care of themselves.

Imagine who you will be 10 years from today and are you smiling at you and how you are living right now.

Have a great day,
