Bannockburn is a regional golf club west of Geelong in Victoria, and a long way from where Brett grew up in Winnipeg, Canada. Yes, that's right, Canada!Growing up in an extremely cold environment and working on golf courses in Canada, as it turns out, is seasonal work. And it wasn't too long before a young Brett travelled to Australia's Gold Coast, far away from the cold environment he was so used to.Working back in Canada for a few more years after visiting Australia, Brett felt maybe Australia was a place to get consistent work on a golf course. And so Melbourne was soon to become his new home.Join Brett and I as we discover his career in greenkeeping that brought him to Australia where he would find his future wife, enjoy a love of travel, knuckle down to become a superintendent, and I also learn a few new words and phrases along the way! Brett is also my first Canadian born guest and this is one awesome yarn! You hit 'em clean and we'll keep 'em green! The Golfing Greenkeeper - InstagramThe Golfing Greenkeeper - FacebookThe Golfing Greenkeeper TV - YouTubeSend me an email to - thegolfinggreenkeeper@gmail.comPeople and places mentioned in this podcast:Bannockburn Golf ClubBoomerang HillsFalcon Lake Golf CourseBridges Golf CourseZamboni Ice Resurfacer - YouTubeSorrento Golf ClubSydney Swans Football ClubEssendon Bombers Football ClubEynesbury Golf ClubStrathallen Golf ClubAxedale Golf ClubPacific Coast DesignLara Golf ClubInverleigh Golf ClubEP.54 Keeper of the Greens - Nico DouglasEP.100 Keeper of the Greens - When the Host Becomes the Guest
