The Shadow and the Promise
If you want your children to discover God's great story of redemption and see how His promises unfold from the very beginning of Scripture, The Shadow and the Promise will take them on an unforgettable adventure.
The Shadow and the Promise by Marty Machowski is the first book in Redemption Tales, an exciting biblical fiction series for readers ages 8–12 that brings the story of Scripture to life through the eyes of the animals who witnessed its most significant events.
In this first adventure, Rock and Badge, two young rock badgers; Ghabi the ostrich; and Daniel the dove—a recurring character throughout the series—guide readers from the Garden of Eden to the plagues of Egypt. As they face danger and wonder, they witness the darkness that entered God's perfect world and the hope found in His promise of a coming Savior.
Filled with adventure, humor, and faithful biblical truth, each chapter helps young readers see how the entire Bible points to God's plan of redemption. The book concludes with The Truth Behind the Tales, featuring discussion questions and Scripture references that help children connect the story to the biblical account. Illustrated by Blair Files.
