Editorial ReviewIn Feng Shui Energy Basics & a Little Bit of Household Dharma Magic, Marina V. Parrish distills years of study into a working reference for readers who want to understand their home, not just decorate it. The book opens with the five elements Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water, each in its Yin and Yang form and traces how each one shows up in personality, career, and the layout of a room, before moving into BaZi chart basics, the Flying Star system, and practical guidance for gardens and interiors under the current Period 9 cycle. A closing section on Dharma etiquette and household prayers rounds out the book with a quieter, more personal note. Organized as a reference rather than a straight read-through, it's built for readers who want to return to a specific chapter a room, a chart, a season as questions come up. From the AuthorI came to Feng Shui and BaZi the way I imagine a lot of people do sideways, through years of being curious about why some rooms feel settled and others don't, and why some years feel like a headwind no matter what you do. Between 2010 and 2016 I served as a volunteer and Spiritual Program Coordinator for FPMT and Awakening Vajra International, which is where the closing section of this book, on Dharma etiquette and household prayers, comes from most directly. Everything in between the elements, the charts, the room-by-room design notes is the part of my own study I wished had been collected in one place when I was starting out, instead of scattered across a dozen sources. I've tried to credit those sources honestly throughout, because none of this tradition is mine alone to claim; I'm passing along what I've learned, organized the way I wish I'd first found it.©2026 Marina Parrish (P)2026 Marina Parrish
