The service hose that unearthed a buried man and toppled a plan
In this episode, we follow the sequence of decisions, schedules and small mechanical failures that turned a careful burial plan into a living mystery. Which choices - from cadastral edits to a rescheduled pump service - created the gap that exposed the truth?
Person: James Richardson
Person: Ryan Callahan
Person: Kathleen Price
Location: Harlow County
Event: cadastral map correction on September 8
- A blue nitrile glove, size and brand matching stock purchased in Richardson’s name, is found on the Aldridge lot in open ground.
- Callahan’s IP accessed and corrected a 2009 cadastral map to identify soft ground and zones of programmed agricultural disturbance.
- Richardson’s barn was locked from the inside and his key was found on his body while his bowling bag remained on its hook for weeks.
- Callahan allegedly used Richardson’s glove supply after the killing to avoid direct contact transfer and left the barn by another exit.
- A pump technician, Kathleen Price, arrived two weeks early for a service call and ran a hose across the selected ground, disturbing soil meant to remain undisturbed until spring.
