• Professional EMS Career: He served with Charleston County EMS for 26 years (1993–2017), rising from an entry-level EMT to a paramedic, Senior Crew Chief, and eventually spending more than six years as an EMS District Chief Supervisor managing personnel, staffing, and day-to-day operations.
• Disaster Response Expert: He is an intermittent federal employee with the National Disaster Medical System and a member of the South Carolina Disaster Medical Assistance Team (SC-1). He acts as a contractor instructor for FEMA's Center for Domestic Preparedness.
• Local Involvement: After retiring to Union County in 2017 to raise livestock, he was unanimously appointed to the Union County Tourism Commission by the County Council in September 2023
