Send us Fan MailHow power, capital, and resources actually move — sourced analysis for owners, operators, and executives who make decisions under pressure. Five ships transited the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday against a ten-day average of fifteen — and crude fell anyway. This week the price signals softened while the physical and calendar facts hardened: Jebel Ali out of the global top 30 container ports for the first time in twenty years, a 99-page Canadian counter-tariff schedule effective 12:01 a.m. on 8 September, European troop-posture options due to the US defense secretary by 6 November, and a $131.2B airframe programme running to 2037. A price is a weighted guess about the future. A transit count is a record of what physically moved. When the two separate, the price is the thing that has to come back — and the operators exposed in the gap are the ones who booked the guess as the plan. If you run a business, you are about to be repriced on a date somebody else picked. This dispatch ends with the seven things to do before 8 September. I built my early career in international business, developing trade and accounts globally, before serving in the Prime Minister's Office of Canada during the 2008 financial crisis and as Chief of Staff in the Senate of Canada during the pandemic. Corridor Intelligence is where I break down how power, capital and resources actually move — and what it means for the people who have to make the call.
