The New York Mets finished 74-88 in 5th place in the NL East, ending their season with a loss to the Washington Nationals. Francisco Lindor hit his 300th career home run in the finale, while David Stearns addressed the departure of Pete Alonso and Juan Soto. Roster chaos included five first basemen: Mark Vientos, Christopher Morel, Marcus Semien, Eric Wagaman, and Jared Young.

Hosts Sarah and Tom analyzed the roster construction, discussing the catching dilemma between Francisco Alvarez and Luis Torrens, and the bullpen usage of Devin Williams and Kodai Senga. They also covered the impact of robot umpires and the future of Bo Bichette at third base. Key storylines included Stearns' refusal to revisit past trades and the strategic missteps of the season.

The episode featured listener questions on the infield defense, the outfield vacancy left by Juan Soto, and the potential roles of Sean Manaea and Chayce McDermott. The hosts concluded with a hypothetical roster build for 2027 and a lightning round of quick takes on the season's end.

In this episode: Stearns' Regrets & The First Base Logjam · Roster Battles: Catchers & Bullpen Arms · Hypothetical Roster & Lightning Round.
