What are you holding on to because letting go feels unsafe? Sometimes the very thing we keep for security can slowly begin to control us.

In this 5-minute Christian devotional, we explore Exodus 16 and the story of God's daily provision of manna. The Israelites discovered that fear can make us store what God is asking us to trust him for. Money, possessions, time, control and even old hurts can become things we grip because we fear tomorrow.

But an open hand is not an empty life. When our security is in Jesus, we can learn to release what fear has taught us to clutch and trust God with what comes next.

Today, choose one small thing you have been keeping mainly because of fear. Ask Jesus to loosen fear's grip and help you live with peaceful hands and a free heart.
