But are these prescription foods really the answer and how long are they actually supposed to be used? In this week's episode of Challenging Pet Health, Dr. Katie and Clayton discuss the use cases for prescription food and whether or not they think food sold only by your vet is problematic. Dr. Katie discuss the positives and negatives she sees in long term use of these foods from a medical standpoint and Clayton weighs in from an economic standpoint.
