Situated on the northeast shores of the Great Salt Lake, the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge is one of the most important bodies of water in the Americas for migrating birds. Spanning over 73,000 acres, the refuge contains a variety of habitats and is managed by the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Patricia L. Lawrence joins a naturalist guide for a tour that includes information on the nesting and feeding habits of the birds that visit the area. Listeners will learn about the fragility of the refuge's ecosystem, as well as the importance of experiencing nature in order to appreciate its value.
