AOC 2028: The First AI ElectionObama 2008 was the first social media election. AOC 2028 could become the first AI election—and demonstrate how artificial intelligence can transform not only campaigning, but governing. In 2008, Barack Obama’s presidential campaign demonstrated how the internet and social media could transform political communication, organizing, fundraising, and participation. Twenty years later, AI presents a more ambitious possibility: a democracy in which citizens remain connected to government beyond Election Day, understand complex policies more easily, and participate continuously in shaping public decisions.AOC 2028: The First AI Election explores this possibility through twelve chapters connecting artificial intelligence, democratic participation, economic abundance, and institutional redesign.AI could turn a temporary election campaign into a continuous civic network. Personal AI assistants could explain legislation, answer policy questions, and help citizens understand competing proposals. AI-powered policy engines could help researchers and legislators develop, compare, simulate, and refine solutions to major public problems. A prepared administration could use the same infrastructure to translate campaign commitments into legislation, implementation plans, and measurable outcomes. The book then examines how AI and robotics could support a new social contract. Universal healthcare, lifelong education, and housing abundance become possibilities to investigate as technology increases productivity and potentially reduces the cost of delivering essential services. The proposal is not to let machines replace human judgment, but to use them to expand human capability and improve public institutions.Government itself could be transformed. AI could automate routine administration, improve procurement, detect fraud, coordinate agencies, and help deliver better services with less bureaucratic overhead. This creates the possibility of a state that is smaller in administrative headcount but larger in capability.Fiscal discipline remains essential. Rather than relying on chronic deficits, the book proposes building productive capacity, making government more efficient, strengthening revenue collection, and pursuing sustainable surpluses. It examines a proposed 70 percent top marginal income-tax rate as a policy hypothesis within a broader debate about taxation, productivity, and public investment. The argument extends internationally through Nations United, a proposed framework for modernizing global cooperation on trade, AI governance, climate, public health, and conflict resolution. Greater economic interdependence and stronger institutions could create opportunities to reduce avoidable conflict and redirect resources toward human development. The book concludes with the Governing OS: an integrated democratic operating system connecting citizen participation, policy design, legislation, administration, and accountability. The central thesis is that AI should become more than a campaign tool. Properly governed, it could help create a more participatory democracy, more capable public institutions, broadly shared prosperity, and a more cooperative world. The election is the demonstration project. Redesigning democracy for the age of abundance is the larger ambition.©2026 Paramendra Bhagat (P)2026 Paramendra Bhagat 世界 政治・政府 米国
