Summer is set to be hot and hectic at Puddleduck Farm…

Legendary New Forest vet Phoebe and her partner Sam lead a fabulous, if full-on life. With a young toddler, a wedding on the horizon, and a charity desperately in need of funds, why not organise a summer fundraiser for Puddleduck Animal Sanctuary? What could possibly go wrong?

It’s the hottest summer anyone can remember. As temperatures soar, Phoebe treats a stream of heat-stricken animals and some decidedly curious cases: kunekune pigs with separation anxiety, a hamster with sleep apnoea and a mysterious virus troubling a nearby dairy farm.

Meanwhile, matriarch Maggie’s husband, Eddie, is about to turn eighty. Everyone wants to celebrate, and Eddie is adamant they don’t. But why?

Add a mystery benefactor, a troublesome ex and a would-be trainee vet, and Puddleduck Farm is in for an unforgettable summer.

Upliftiing, poignant and feel-good ficiton, perfect for the fans of Alison Sherlock, Sarah Hope and Lisa Hobman
