概要
From A DOZEN DAYS TO DIE: One Soldier's Story From World War II: 'Sitting in my foxhole watching for enemy movement, I peered over the dirt, with my hands one on top of the other supporting my chin and head. Suddenly, "ZING!" a rifle bullet struck the dirt about two inches below my eyes. The bullet ricocheted upwards off the dirt, filling my eyes with grit, then grazed my helmet and continued on to who knows where. This hole was in the open, with no concealment. This was my fifth near-miss with death.' Very few of the stories of soldiers in World War II were made into movies or a TV series. The "average G.I. Joe", of which there were millions, would not have thought their story worth telling. My father, Frank Price, experienced more than his fair share of close calls with death. Set in somewhat of a diary format, this is his story, and I hope you enjoy it. -- Don P. Price©2026 Don P. Price (P)2026 Don P. Price ヨーロッパ 軍事・戦争
