Stella Boles' and her interviews and writings were used in the development of the historical true crime books, WHITE CHRISTMAS, BLOODY CHRISTMAS and THE MEANING OF OUR TEARS.
The book gives historical insight into her life growing up in the sleepy foothills of North Carolina. It contains her own Memories regarding her infamous uncle, Charles Lawson, and of his family whom he murdered on Christmas Day, 1929 but it also goes far beyond into the loves and tragedies of her adult life.
In this book Mrs. Boles speaks of her basic thoughts on life as well.
The tragedies of her life give this book its heart and character, Sometimes funny, sometimes very sad and continuing into other tragedies and life stories she experienced, her simple and straight forward words have become treasured by those who have read them.
