The Ocher of Abundance: Poems - Volume 16 by Wendy E. Slater is the third poetry book published in Slater's Traduka Wisdom Poetry Series. After a 20-year hiatus from writing poetry, she composed 20 volumes of spiritually inspired poetry which began in 2001 during a mystical sojourn to Scotland. When I first started writing towards a new book, I never knew the direction the Holy Spirit was directing me. Usually it takes me about 50 poems to get an idea, which started forming as my journey through reading the whole Bible, which took me through Numbers and Deuteronomy.

Do not fear the darkening skies of the coming storm. Don't cower in the boat that keeps us from seeing him. Instead stand firm. Keep looking up even in pouring rain. The rainbow is always there, but is forgotten like faith. That we fail to use until we're desperate for a miracle. Action like friction in storms are needed to waken us.

As I walked around on this gorgeous day, I reflected on my life and then prayed, “Father God, thank you for being You. Thank you too for the many blessings.... I would try to count them, but they are countless. Thank you for being holy.... All good things in life reflect you.” At that moment I realized.... You and I, we were made to praise his name. You and I, we were made to love and be loved.
