Postpandemic America. A youth mental health crisis the likes of which we have never known. The dark night of suicide. School failure. Unable to move out and get a job. Young people isolated from their families and dependent on social media and video games for peer socialization. Parents unable to find support for their teens to twentysomethings as they face their own life challenges of aging parents, faltering health, unemployment, financial strain, and social disconnection.

Today as you listen, look, see, forgive, and understand that this life of events is not just yours. This is my world too and so many others like us so let me in to share my peace with you, one jewel to another. This collection came about while sitting outside, and the poems were inspired by James's brain, which often runs amok. The book contains items from cowboys to clothespins. One poem was inspired by the love of Western movies. It is amazing how once the brain begins to rhyme, themes just seem to come together in poetic form. Memories, past experiences, common objects, and random thoughts have all come together to produce the compilation of poems included in this book.

This work of art is a dedication of what I have gone through in life, from my military experience to returning to civilian life and restoring a normal life. Even though you have your brothers and sisters in green, they don't replace what you have at home. The experiences are a total shock no matter how many times you are deployed and think that you are used to it. PTSD is an aftereffect, and a lot of people, including family, is affected unknowingly. Only time, perseverance, and the undaunted care, affection, and understanding of your loved ones and friends can help in the situation at hand.

This is my second book. My first book, The Book of David, is a collection of thoughts written about forty years ago. This book, Seeker, contains thoughts both old and new. Unlike The Book of David, in which each thought can stand alone, Seeker is arranged in a specific sequence. Listen in that sequence. Each thought, though whole in itself, is intended to present a complete, though continuing story.

I think the many things I’ve gone through with people jobs, churches, family, friends enable me to formulate over the years a paradigm of emotions and expressions, and now I put them in writing in this book. So to hear them, I hope will give you joy, peace, a sense of love, and answer your many inner thoughts and long-overdue emotions.

Poetry for the Spirit is a collection of poetry that touches upon life's many journeys. It is a collective work to inspire, move, and challenge one to think and feel deeply. Listeners could find themselves experiencing the journey.

Tying My Shoes is a collection of poems covering a wide spectrum of experiences occurring over the last twelve years. It comments on love and hate and old and new traditions and provides the listener with a unique perspective on life around them. It will make you laugh, cry, and question the world's problems with new insights. The variety of styles and voices found in the poems gives each one a unique flavor while highlighting the writers' versatility and storytelling abilities.
