The Italian Wars refers to a period of prolonged conflict between 1494 and 1559 when the major European powers of the time fought for control over Italy. Il 27 giugno 1980 un aereo passeggeri, il DC 9 Itavia partito da Bologna e diretto a Palermo, viene abbattuto nei cieli di Ustica.
