Adventurer Wandering Smith is hunting anacondas in the jungles of South America when he spots an orchid hunter, who is fleeing from a group of natives. The two join forces, but it soon becomes clear to Wandering Smith that the orchid hunter is after something much more adventurous than rare flowers. 'The Golden Anaconda' is one of five stories written by entomologist Elmer Brown Mason about the swamp-guide Wandering Smith. They were originally published in 'The Popular Magazine' and were inspired by Elmer Brown Mason's own travel adventures.

"Rip Van Winkle" is a short story by Washington Irving about a man who drinks some liquor then falls asleep for 20 years amidst the hills. Having missed the American Revolution, Rip Van Winke returns home but finds it completely changed. What he notices is really important, as they possess social and political messages that Irving wanted to stress.

"The Gift of the Magi" is a short story about love, selflessness, sacrifices and struggles. Della and James are a young married couple who want to surprise each other with a secret gift for Christmas. Unfortunately, neither of them has much money yet still they each hope they'll manage to buy something in time and that it will be appreciated. "The Last Leaf" tells us the story of poor Johnsy, who is so sick that her days are counted.

"The Wonderful Wizard of Oz," also known simply as "The Wizard of Oz" is a famous children's novel by Frank L. Baum. Written at the start of the 20th century, it is one of the most famous fantasy stories to date, now brought to life by B. J. Harrison. Dorothy is a young girl living peacefully on a Kansas prairie, when a cyclone swoops her and her dog Toto into the magical Land of Oz.

In 1888, a young British couple are left behind in an African jungle. Seeing no other way than to make a life for themselves, they've soon built a cabin and had a son. When they die unexpectedly, their young boy ends up in the care of a she-ape, who calls him Tarzan. Growing up, Tarzan struggles with being different. But one day, he finds his parents' cabin and suddenly it all starts to make sense. 'Tarzan of the Apes' (1912) is the first in a series of twenty-four books about Tarzan, which author Edgar Rice Burroughs worked on until the 1940s.

After eighteen years, Horace and Leo once again set out on a journey, this time to Asia, where they encounter Ayesha's reincarnation. What follows is a love story and a tragedy of gigantic proportions. H. Rider Haggard's story is a sequel to his widely popular novel "She" and part of the Ayesha series.
