I wrote this book by imagination in poetry. About relationships had or would like to have. Some poems are romantic, some jokey. Others here and there come to mind of kind of everywhere. As the world turns on its love lights.

These poems range across a number of topics related to marriage: parenthood, family, friendship, sex, divorce and bereavement and refer from time to time to marriages in literature, opera and the Old Testament. The verse is accomplished, the analysis of marriage both instructive and entertaining, the compassion and wisdom remarkable.

Struggling with mental health issues can be lonely. The world, to the sufferer, is not bright and vibrant, but rather dark and bleak. We long to see the beauty, but it is difficult to navigate the caverns of depression. The light is always seen, but is just out of reach.

This collection of pieces that I have written is, in my opinion, some of my best writing thus far in my short endeavor into being an author. These are Poems from Exile by Balint Bodroghy. The first was written as an 18-year-old youth when becoming what is now known somewhat pejoratively as an economic migrant, after escaping from Hungary to Austria, and subsequently emigrating to Canada. The last poems in this batch were written in Vancouver in 1958, when he was a 27-year-old "young man". The next batch was all written in England, in English—still in exile, but no longer homeless. The final batch, contemporaneous poems, all in English—no longer in exile and no longer homeless.
