Shekhinah Speaks is an effort to give voice to the Shekhinah, described in mystical Jewish tradition as the immanent, feminine aspect of God who dwells with human beings and shares our feelings and experiences. It explores gender and sexuality, and the ways in which these things affect our relationships with others, as well as our perceptions of ourselves. I wrote these poems to help myself accept who I am, and now I hope that they may help other nonbinary and asexual people feel less alone in this world.
