Exclusive interview! Robin Morgan from Audible chats to Elizabeth Fremantle about her new novel, The Girl in the Glass Tower.

Noted for his popular detective novels, Barclay made his breakthrough with No Time for Goodbye in 2007, which became 2008’s top selling novel of the year in the UK. With 17 novels for adults under his belt, Barclay has now published his next thriller, A Noise Downstairs. Linwood Barclay talks to us about his latest novel, his love of typewriters and how he began writing.

Joining us in the Audible Studios to talk about his latest book, Jeopardy, is British entrepreneur, farmer and founder of The Black Farmer range of food products, Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones. Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones has gone from a stint in the army to a career in catering to running his own marketing agency before buying a farm in Devon from which he launched his multimillion-pound, award-winning brand, The Black Farmer. 2018 sees Emmanuel-Jones publish his inspirational personal development book, Jeopardy.

Bardugo is best known for creating the Grishaverse, a world in which several of her book series are set, the Shadow and Bone trilogy and the duology, Six of Crows among others. Bardugo has also written short stories, and her first adult fiction title was The Ninth House, which tells of the secret societies in Yale, the university Bardugo herself attended to gain her English degree. Bardugo's novel Hell Bent is the second book based at Yale university, and again follows protagonist Alex Stern, who gained her place at Yale with the help of a mysterious benefactor.

In his memoir Waypoints, Heughan digs into his Scottish heritage by hiking the West Highland Way, and along the journey he recounts the life and career events that have shaped him and his personal values. We spoke to Sam Heughan about the joys and trials of West Highland Way, his journey towards processing the absence of his dad, and how the creation of his Outlander family came at just the point he needed in his career.

Robert Peston is the presenter of ITV's politics show, Peston, and has been ITV News' political editor since 2015, having previously worked as BBC's business editor for a decade. We spoke with Peston about his latest venture, a novel titled The Whistleblower, his first work of fiction. Holly Newson asked him about this foray into fiction and his everlasting interest in the world of politics, and heard which parts of the book are based on his own life.

Speaking out about mental health has given Gordon a new perspective and drive on the matter, prompting her to run the London marathon two years in a row for mental health charities and start a support group, 'Mental Health Mates'.

Joining us in the Audible Studios to talk about her narration of Jessie Burton’s The Restless Girls is BAFTA Award-winning British actress Thandie Newton. Known for her starring roles in films such as Crash and Mission: Impossible 2, Thandie Newton has had an accomplished career onscreen. Acclaimed for her role as Maeve Millay in HBO series Westworld, for which she earned a Golden Globe nomination, and her role in BBC One drama Line of Duty, for which she received a TV BAFTA nomination, Thandie now narrates the audiobook of Jessie Burton’s The Restless Girls.

Joining us in the Audible Studios to talk about his latest book, Breaking News, is British journalist, former editor in chief of the Guardian and Principal of Lady Margaret Hall in Oxford Alan Rusbridger. Spending most of his life as a journalist and 20 years as editor of the Guardian, Alan Rusbridger has been responsible for the paper’s change from broadsheet to Berliner, for its innovation into digital and for breaking some of the most significant news stories of our time.

Born and raised in West Lothian, Brady pursued a career in journalism after university, though always had an interest in comedy. After reaching the final of "So You Think You're Funny" at the Edinburgh Fringe, Brady launched her stand-up career and has since appeared on panel shows. Brady knew she was autistic as a teenager, but was told she couldn't be, as she was good at making eye contact and had a boyfriend. After finally getting a diagnosis in 2021, Brady has now penned her autobiography, Strong Female Character, which details the struggles she faced growing up with autism.

Three years after his death at 91, J.D. Salinger remains our most mythic writer. The Catcher in the Rye (1951) became an American classic, and he was for a long time the writer for The New Yorker. Franny and Zooey and Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters introduced, by way of the Glass family, a new type in contemporary literature: the introspective, voluble cast of characters whose stage is the Upper East Side of New York. But fame proved a burden, and in 1953 Salinger fled to New Hampshire, spending the next half century in isolation.

Allen trained with the National Youth Theatre and has appeared in films such as Starter for Ten and Tamara Drewe, and began his stand-up career winning the So You Think You're Funny award in 2005.
