In the beginning, there was only hope. In the beginning of me, was I and the Lord Jesus. His beginning was different from mine obviously. But for me, personally. It was during a five-day project trip that the Lord and I decided to take the time together to bond and to be. It started on January 6, 2020--the beginning. Within five days and nights of staying in an old empty house with no TV, no phones, and no entertainment of any kind. The Lord and I laughed. We talked, and we wrote.

There are questions that are never asked for reasons that are private to those who dare to ask. Feelings or thoughts are held inside for fear of ridicule. It takes boldness to speak. These words (writings) that you have or will listen to are written because I have finally, through the power of God, found the spiritual strength to release that which has been growing inside since the age of six. Your age or position in life doesn't matter. If you know deep within that God will receive all the glory, release it. Always surround yourself with those who are encouragers.

The purpose of The Integrated Self is to provide a guide for navigating your human experience consciously through lasting personal and spiritual growth. Integration of both the Ego and the Soul is what we call the Integrated Self, and balance is a main pillar of the Integrated Self Model. Those on their journeys of growth may experience internal competition between their Ego and Soul. The primary job of your Ego is to keep you safe and validated as you do your best in the world, while your Soul is working on your connection to God and your existence.

Life doesn’t come with an instruction manual. We are all born with different circumstances and opportunities and learn from our mistakes and experiences. The knowledge and wisdom gained are invaluable and make us stronger in mind, body and Spirit. Chris details navigating obstacles of alcohol and substance abuse, severe depression, heart break and loss from a long term relationship, being near bankruptcy and just about wanting to “throw in the towel” altogether.

Our cities, states, countries, and seemingly the whole world, seem to be coming apart at the seams. While many of us live in relative comfort, the wars, killing, economic strife, lack of morals, decency, and just common sense, take a heavy toll on our spirits and psyches. But how do we as individuals overcome the enormity of hate, prejudice, selfishness, greed, corruption, and all the other bad things going on in our world?
