This children’s audiobook was inspired by the little African American girls in my family and the experiences and challenges they face on the schoolyard and classrooms. Young African American girls are lead to believe that they are inferior to other races, and this audiobook is meant to inspire and lift them up. Young African American girls are often ridiculed for having different hair. They are asked many questions from other children, and they need to be lifted and honored for their heritage.

Geared for ages five and up, Kind Words explores the difference between words that are kind and helpful and words that are mean and hurtful. The repeated message - that kind words are the glue that help keep us together - supports healthy relationships and respect for each other at an early age. The listener will explore how they feel when different words are spoken to them. The listener will learn that when mean and hurtful words are said to them, it is not their fault, they are not alone, and it is okay to ask for help.

This story is about an all-black lion named Leo, who is born to an all-brown pride, and his cowardly dad, Lucas, is afraid of his attention. He could draw to the pride and force Leo to live with his uncle Dami. Word spreads throughout the jungle of Leo being born an all-black lion. Other lions are not too fond of him and wants him dead.
