Well...it's really V-Day: a political movement to draw attention to women's rights that is celebrated on Valentine's Day - and that Susie looks at through the eyes of a sports fan. Susie goes over stats, batting averages, who's left on base, sacrifice flies, fan favorites, and more...but it's not really about baseball. Susie looks at the feminist wars, conservative movements, "I am vagina hear me roar," violence against women, and misogyny. V-Day is part of the movement, organized by Eve Ensler, called One Billion Rising.

Susie reads from an article by Chadwick Moore in Out magazine that tells the stories of women dealing with their husbands' changes in sexual preference. Many of these women are devout Christians or from conservative backgrounds. They feel they should remain supportive, even at the sacrifice of their own happiness.

Susie has an inmate conversation with author Juan F. Thompson, son of the late gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson, who was a friend of Susie's. Juan was the one person Hunter trusted completely. Susie loves it and she laughs along as she reads the "sincere" advice for young writers, which includes establishing a daily routine involving many ways to have sex with a publisher. If you have writers block, says the article, just move on, find a different person to sleep with, and your slump may improve!

Susie's guest is Dan Savage, author of the syndicated weekly sex advice column "Savage Love" and two books, The Commitment and The Kid, as well as editor of the Seattle weekly newspaper The Stranger. After being sentenced to 35 years in prison for leaking government files, Manning made the not-so-shocking announcement about her transition and new name: Chelsea. Susie points out that many people are taking hormones and asks what all the uproar is over Manning requesting some while in prison.

Amnesty International is facing a backlash for proposing a new policy for sex workers. They want to stop the criminalization of buying or selling sex between consenting adults. Susie says, Hooray! But some big-time Hollywood stars are using their fame to oppose this effort, because they think sex workers are always oppressed and trafficked. But the World Health Organization has also called for decriminalization, so we'll have to see how this plays out. Will celebrity power influence - or just muddy up - the process?
