Dear Diary... Imagine my surprise when I heard that my old friend, Alex Burgess, was finally making his first movie - right here in River Heights! And he was sweet enough to invite George, Bess, and me for an inside glimpse behind the scenes. Of course, George wants to get a closer look at the cameras, and Bess is dying for a peek at the film's leading man.

Nancy and her friends are spending the weekend in a small mountainside town called Shady Oaks. The local museum is displaying a never-before-seen collection from famous nature photographer, Christopher DeSantos. So the usually sleepy town is now filled with tourists. But it's not just the dramatic lighting of the old black and white photographs that people have come to see.

Fourteen-year-old Jay Cooper is enjoying the view from his Uncle Rex's Cessna when a low-flying 757 speeds past them. Caught in its wind turbulence, their small plane is shaken violently, knocking Rex unconscious and leaving Jay blind from a head injury. With fuel running out fast, Jay drifting in and out of consciousness, and the plane heading straight for a mountain range, this high-flying adventure shows the importance of faith as Jay faces numerous unseen dangers.

The Great Wilderness was very much like your home. Well, perhaps not so very much. When Ned is cast in a stage production of Macbeth, led by the famous but peculiar director Bear Larouche, Nancy volunteers to help with the set. She’s also allowed to sit in on a few rehearsals, where she gets an earful from the director about theater superstitions: never say “Macbeth” out loud—only refer to it as “The Scottish Play”—never wear blue, no peacock feathers onstage, and so on. The play is off to a promising start until Ned breaks the most important rule and accidentally says “Macbeth” in the theater.

Bess and George’s cousin Veronica is getting married to extreme sports enthusiast Xavier Redd, and as a close friend of the family, Nancy has been invited to the wedding. Given the groom’s big personality and love for the extreme, the wedding will take place in Vegas, and the couple plan to take advantage of local sporting opportunities in the week leading up to the big event. Not everyone in the family approves of Veronica’s fiancé, though, especially because of the risk-taking behavior Xavier has introduced her to.

Meanwhile, Jean has been assigned by her church's Young Helps group to clean house and assist the mysterious woman who lives by herself in the big, spooky house on a lonely and dark street. Why does Martha Jenkins have no friends, and why does she never leave her house?

Not very much, but still . . .”

Doc Ericson has just started a llama farm, north of Peabody, Wisconsin, and he asks Penny, Jack, and Scruggs to help out. As soon as they get there, however, strange things begin to happen. Who let the llamas run loose? Is somebody trying to make trouble for Doc Ericson and his llamas? And what about that telescope they discovered? Could it be watching them?

The whole gang from Peabody: Scruggs, Penny, Annette, Jack, and Jean, board a flight for a vacation in New England with Aunt Betty and Uncle Bill. But they find themselves abandoned in a strange, seemingly endless forest in the mountains. With very little food and no gear, they must keep moving as they try to figure out who has left them here, and who is following them, and what they want.
